How to get ID Mobile monthly plan without switching?


I have an active EE contract that I am not planning to switch from. But, I would like to try out ID Mobile, and wanted to sign up for a £6 a month plan. The problem is, checkout process only has the option of “switching from another provider” - on SIM delivery or a bit later with our without losing my number. 

I don’t want to switch or change numbers, I want an additional number to try out in another phone. How can this be processed at checkout? See the image with the only options available.

You can select the first option and not switch the number when your order is delivered.

Many thanks for the reply and information, I understand. There should definitely be an option for not switching, as I understand the first option as "there's an automated process to switch the number from your existing provider in the background". Good to know there's a middle step once the SIM arrives and must be initiated.
