I've deleted my esim off my device now I can't get a new one

I've deleted my esim off my phone as I was told by an agent that I would be able to reinstall it again after I've deleted it. This was after a discussion about network issues I was having. He advised me that reinstating the esim can improve network problems. I contacted live chat and because they can't send the OTP to my phone, they won't provide me with a new esim. This means I now have to go to a Currys store or wait for a new physical SIM to be delivered. 

 

Is there any other way around this without having to go to a store or wait for a SIM to be delivered?

We are very sorry that you were advised this. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. 

Unfortunately, we would need an active number in order to send a one time pass code for verification for the eSIM so a physical SIM would be the only option at this time. 

Once you have the physical SIM, we can then get a new eSIM sent via email. 

 

Please let us know if you need assistance with the ordering of the SIM.

@AdamJW93 seemingly a Catch 22.. have you asked subsequent agents to check the previous transcript? It’ll all be down to security requiring a OTP.  If not, hopefully a Currys store is nearby!

Hi ​@Natalie W. Thanks for the reply back. 

 

I've got it sorted now. I went into a Currys store and got a replacement SIM and I think I'll keep it that way. Esims seem quite a bit of hassle if they're removed off the device. Is there any benefit of having an esim compared to a normal SIM card?
