Question

Id mobile data add on morocco.

Hello,

Wondering if anyone can help.

I've landed in Marrakech, paid the £20 for 5gb of data for 5 days. Which I'm told I'll connect to a local network.

I'm getting nothing!!! I'm using the patchy WiFi of the hotel. Just need it for moving about the old town.

I've tried, auto selecting networks, manually selecting, Restarting, turning off and on. Nothing is working.

Am I missing something or have I just been sold a dud add on that wouldn't work?

Any help would be appreciated

G

Hey there @Greeeg, we’re sorry to hear that.

As this is a roaming issue, we’d recommend contacting our live-chat ASAP to troubleshoot with you, as it’s a time-sensitive issue:

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

Appreciate the response. However I just went for an esim from Maya.

I'll seek a refund or credit to my account when I return to the UK. But just a bit dissapointing considering the app had a data option for Morocco.

Thanks

Greg

I have the same problem. £35 10 day Morocco add-on doesn't work.

Phil, I contacted customer care on a live chat. Explained the situation, got the money credited back-ongoing.

If your still in Morroco, I used Maya E SIM. Which was pretty fair, £5 for 5gb I think.

Or id go to a Comms store (don't buy one from the street sellers) and get a local orange SIM card or whatever other network is best.

Best of luck.🫡

Hi,

I activated before leaving the UK and it didn't work the first day, despite me playing with settings and rebooting. However, the next day it started working and has worked very well since then.

👍

Hello @Greeeg

Thank you for getting back in touch on the thread.

We are very happy to hear the team were able to arrange a credit for the add on and again we apologise for this not working.

Hello @Natalie W

Unfortunately I am recieving the same issue in Hungary now.

Received a text message when I landed to say I am in a data roaming zone and can use my mobile as I would in UK.

I have not been able to pick up one network at all. I have consulted the help page, enabled roaming on account and phone and still nothing.

So again I've had to buy an e-sim.

When I return to the u.k. I need to get this resolved as the free roaming was one of my major attractions to this deal due to how much I travel.

In the meantime can you please send me anything that might help me trouble shoot this issue.

It's dissapointing to go through this cycle each time I'm away.

Thanks in advance

Greg

Hello @Greeeg

Sorry to hear this, I appreciate it must be frustrating.

Can you please turn off automatic network selection and run a manual network search?

If there are multiple options available, can you please test each of them to see if it works?

Thanks,

Nat

Hello Nat,

I have tried this with all 3 available networks.

2 just wouldn't pick up and the 3rd I could would just say not available.

I've turned on and off, tried resetting roaming on both account and phone. Still nothing.

I'm unsure how it can be settings issue, however I am at a loss as to how this is so difficult to use roaming.

Thanks

Greg

Hey there @Greeeg, sorry about this.

To confirm, I presume you enabled roaming via both the iD Mobile app/website, and also phone’s own settings?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler,

That's correct, I've enabled roaming on my ID app and for my mobile.

Still nothing came up on availability in terms of signal and network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be travelling a lot this year

Greg

Apologies for the delay in response @Greeeg

Are you still roaming? If so, can you please perform a manual network reset on the handset and then try searching for a network manually again?

If possible, we would also recommend trying your SIM in another handset to see if it works.

Thanks,

Hello Nat,

I have went into a Currys store in Glasgow and I've been issued another new SIM.

One of your colleagues looked at my handset and settings and can see that I had done everything as was asked.

I travel again in around a month or so to mainland Europe, so I hope it is just an issue with the SIM that is now fixed.

I'll keep you updated.

Thanks

Greg
