new phone - no service

I’ve bought a new phone

1.) input my PAC code and all details but the system keeps saying there’s an error. I’ve now tried dozens of times

2.) my phone says ‘no service’ I’ve tried all the usual several times - turning on/off, switching airplane on/off, manually selecting provider

and since when was no customer call centre ‘in the customer’s best interests’

Sounds like the SIM card is not activated, or is damaged / faulty @Michelle Cookson.

Does the same happen with the iD SIM card in a different handset?

Thanks! I actually got to message a human today! Turns out, that despite the packaging saying something along the lines of ‘insert the sim and you’re good to go’ … it needed activating!

they sorted the PAC thing too 😅

so, we now have signal and hopefully on Monday we’ll have ported the number over 🤞🏻

I’m sure I didn’t used to find these things so tricky !

Thanks for your advice
