Number Hasn't ported but old Sim stopped working

I submitted my PAC, 4 working days ago, 3 days ago my old Voda sim stopped working but my number hadn't ported. Its 3 days later and still the same. When I call my old number it say not recognised. I have tried turning the phone off and on etc. Live chat has been unhelpful. "We are having technical issues and will sort it out soon" is all the info they can provide. But no timefame. In the meantime I am missing work calls with people thinking I have disappeared. I also can 2-step verify my bank transactions as I can't get my text messages at my old number. Ridiculous. And yes I have turned my phone off and on, in fact thats all I do these days, so suggest something else.

Hello @Gervs

We are very sorry for the delay with your number port, due to an issue early in the week with our systems, number ports have been delayed.

We do have a team working through all port in requests as we speak.

You will receive a text message once your number has ported over successfully.

@Gervs good luck waiting. I've had the exact same issue. Mine been going 7 days now. I'm going to carphone warehouse tomorrow to see if they can resolve it, if not I will hand back phones as its still in cool off period and recall e.e to port back our numbers. The worse thing is everything is online and you can't speak to a representative.

Unfortunately they will not be able to resolve the problem in store either.

I wouldn’t do that if the number you want to port in is no longer active on EE’s side. If you terminate the ID Mobile mid port you risk losing the number completely.

People moaning about everything being online… It’s one of the reasons why ID Mobile is cheaper than the main networks! If you want poor outsourced telephone support, pay the higher rates that the main networks are charging and stay away from networks like Voxi, GiffGaff, ID Mobile etc.

Even if you could speak to someone over the phone they couldn’t do anything other than apologise and tell you what has already been said on here a thousand times over the past week.

So poor in-house online support is fine?

Online only support works perfectly fine when it is implemented diligently. My home ISP uses the same method and they are also a smaller organisation. But I have only positive things to say about my experiences contacting them to get issues resolved. The difference is: their chat agents have the same level of care and friendliness you would expect from a customer service agent. They don't leave your questions unanswered, they don't take upto 8mins to reply in chat and don't abruptly end the chat once they realise they have exhausted the script. They also have dedicated email addresses for different types of queries and normally have replied within a few hours. They also have a forum like this but I have never had to use it.

We all want the money but its too much to put in the work to actually earn it.
