Number not ported

I transferred from O2 to a new contract and SIM with new phone with Idmobile. My port date was yesterday 13/11 but it came and went and still not done. I contacted live chat and told another 48 hours!  I googled similar issues and came across someone who had to wait 8 weeks.

I think i need to return the new phone and cancel the contract but can i do this and get my old number back?

Yes you can @Stevieuk2003

If you RETURN your order, within the contract cooling off period, the pay monthly plan will be converted to a PAYG plan - hence you can get a PAC from iD Mobile, and transfer the number you want to keep to another service provider.

Sorry to labour this point, but you’ll have to RETURN in the cooling off period, NOT CANCEL.

If you cancel, the number you want to keep might be harder to recover and switch to another provider.

When switching goes wrong, it often seems getting sensible information from the iD number porting team is practically impossible.

🤞

I waited for almost 5 days, but everything went well, although there was a problem with reloading the card.  The ID advisor told me to take it out of the phone and put it back in and wait until the phone starts up.  I still had the problem - I had to restart the phone - but it helped and now it's OK. Check it out.

Switch is supposed to happen the next working day, if you’ve given your PAC to iD before 17:30.
Taking 5-days for switching seems a bit too long @Meg Prus

If you purchased from iD online, there’s a 30-day cooling off period for returns.

Hi @Stevieuk2003

I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced a port delay but glad to hear that resolved.

Please could you let us know the postcode(s) you’re having issues with coverage in?

If you’re unhappy with the general signal, it may be worth exploring a return as outlined by @andewhite above.
