pay off contract to start a new one?

I am unable to get an upgrade until 2nd June but go on holiday before this so want to be able to get a phone sooner… 

Can I pay off the remainder of this current contract in order to terminate it early and then buy a new contract with you?

If yes is there a way in which I can keep my number ?
