I have upgraded my phone but the sim from my old phone does not work in my new phone. I have tried all the things suggested so am assuming the new phone is faulty. How do I go about resolving this?

Your old SIM should work as usual but have you tested the new SIM that arrived, just in case that was activated?
You can test the old SIM in a different handset as that will confirm if the handset has a fault.
