Sorry to hear this, if both you and your wife are having similar issues it sounds mostly like a coverage issue, please could you let us know the postcode(s) where you’re having issues?

I can say text is working here in London, in your case it maybe a localised problem. Do a Internet search "Network 3 outage or Network issue for said location. If no problem flag up more likely once again it's IDM problem.
Still doesn't work. My wife have contract on 3UK and today same issues.. :(
