switching sims

My phone needs to go away for repair but I  have an eSim. My spare old phone is not eSim compatible so I will need a physical sim, does this mean I have to port my number again?

Hi @Juliasp

You won’t need to port your number again, we’d just issue a replacement physical SIM card, which can be picked up at any Currys store and then if you wish to after you have your phone back, we can also issue an eSIM again.

If you’d like any assistance with this, please let us know so we can get in touch here, or for a quicker service, we’d recommend using the Live Chat, Facebook or Twitter.

When you activated the eSIM, you invalidated numbers on the SIM that the network uses to identify it. Pushing the old SIM into your temporary phone is unlikely to work.  Depending on the definition of “temporary” it might not be worth your effort to order a new SIM with your old number, or have that number placed onto a new SIM just to neutralise it in ten min time to eSIM it again.
