Why 6 month to go from Sim Only to Upgrade?

Is there a valid reason why I cannot take out a contract after 2 months sim only?

I now wish too, to get a new phone and in return be contracted for 24 months but it will not allow it?

I know I could do it as a fresh customer, but want to keep my number?

Hi @Craig Piper

Upgrades on SIM only plans will be available after 6 months, from this time options for upgrades will be seen in the iD Mobile app/website while logged in.

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade before this 6 months, sorry.

Is there anyway to take a new contract and migrate SIM/number from my SIM only?

Yes there is a way, although it’s a bit of a faff @Craig Piper.

  1. Get a PAC from iD Mobile for the number you want to keep, and give this PAC to another service provider.
  2. Once the number you want to keep has been successfully transferred to the new service provider, ask them for a PAC.
  3. Use the PAC obtained in step 2 with the new iD contract you’re planning to keep.
