SMS error code 10

Hi there,

My phone is a Motorola g5. I've used iD for the past 6 months but since yesterday, I can no longer send texts.

If I try sending a SMS I receive a pop-up message for a few seconds saying :"it's not possible to send SMS with iD. Error code 10" (my phone is in French so the words might not be exactly that, but it's the same meaning).

I have 2 sims in my phone, the other one is French, and works fine.

I had a look on the forum but couldn't find a solution :/

Any ideas please?

Thanks,
Virginie

Hi @VirginieA,

This sounds strange but we will do what we can to help. Could you please try removing the other SIM from the handset leaving just the iD SIM in the handset and see if this makes a difference? You may need to restart the handset after doing this.

Also if you can, please could you try the iD SIM in another phone and see if you have the same issue.

Kash

Hi Kash,

It worked!

Don't know how but it worked 🙂
I took out my French simcard, then the iD simcard worked. Put the French one back in and now everything is back to normal.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I am also having this problem but am only using one SIM in my Moto g5.

I have tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in, as well as swapping the SIM slot it is in but have had no success 😞.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello @ASM2000,

Are you able to send a text to your own number? Can you test this for us?

Do you know how to locate the SMS Centre number, which number shows here?

Hi Mohammed,

I am not able to send a text to my own number.
The SMSC number is +7

Hello Arun,

This doesn't seem correct.

Are you able to change this number?
This should be set as: +447782000800

If you could try this for us and get back to me?

Hi Mohammad,

After resetting my phone the problem was temporarily solved hence the slow response, however it has since come up again.
I tried to change the number but I was unable to, it keeps showing +7 once I type in the new SMSC number.

That's odd Arun.

How are you entering the SMSC number in?
Which screen are you on?

Which handset are you using?
