WiFi Calling on Xiaomi Mi A1

Hi, does the wifi calling feature work on the Xiaomi Mi A1? It is not on the list of supported devices but it runs vanilla android (it's an Android One phone) so there really shouldn't be much stopping it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm afraid the Xiaomi Mi A1 is not included on this list, so does not currently support WiFi calling with us, as this feature is not supported, I'm afraid we would be unable to offer assistance with this.

I’m also interested in Wifi Calling on Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2. 

 

It is just impossible to have signal indoors. even to receive 2 factor authentication messages i need to go to a higher floor or outside to get signal. I will have to change carrier due to coverage problems.
