5G

I have just received an email from ID Mobile stating that my postcode now has 5G, My phone is 5G compatible but only receives 4G in my home. I have checked the coverage map on the Three website and and my postcode isn’t covered on there map for indoors. So it’s not much good as I don’t want to stand outside when using data.

Hi @ianlowe58

Okay, taking a look your area may get 5G signal, however it may be weak, possibly weaker and less consistent than 4G is.

The email was sent based on a sort of ‘list’ that we have with Three UK about which areas have 5G, apologies if you have gotten this email but do not have 5G/a strong 5G connection.

Hiya,

As 5G is still being rolled out, there will be further improvements to the service over time.

I would recommend checking your phone settings to ensure that 5G is enabled. Additionally, if you’ve had your plan with iD prior to the wider 5G rollout (4+ Years), it may be worth popping to your local Currys store and requesting a replacement Sim.

The email is a general e-mail seems to be going out to all those using IDMobile.

I've had 5G from day one on IDMobile January 2024 and I also received this email today.

Just take it with a pinch of salt as they say.

Hi @ianlowe58

Apologies for this, as suggested above by @RentalLeader & @JoeKing 5G is indeed still rolling out and isn’t available in every area, it’s always worth checking the coverage checker (which you already seem to have done) to see if 5G is expected in an area.

Please could you let us know your postcode?

Hi Tom

I have been using 5G on my phone for quite some time so I think my phone settings are fine

I received an email that specifically stated. The postcode registered to your account (M437ER) now has access to the UK’s fastest 5G network¹ powered by Three

I haven't been able to get on 5G at my home as yet and I still can’t, it states on the three coverage checker that only outside is available but I don’t get that either.

Regards Ian
