All my incoming calls go straight to voicemail. 

This is not due to the call forwarding option on settings

My handset is a Samsung Galaxy A32 5g

SM a326b/DS

It's been happening for a few months now.

I also find that I'd I need to make a call, I always get the engaged tone, and to rectify this I have to switch the phone off, then on again

Yes my phone number is showing correctly

I'm also having problems receiving texts for 2 factor authentication

OK, are you able to try the SIM in a different handset and test the calls, that way we can rule out it being a handset issue ​@suilven666

I've tried my sim in another phone and it works fine

Hi there ​@suilven666, if the SIM works in another phone, then this would indicate a problem with your device most likely.

 

Where did you get your device from and when please?

I bought my phone from a company called mobile deals UK, just over 3 years ago

No problem ​@suilven666. I would suggest this is a device or SIM issue, so I’d recommend a free replacement SIM card. If the replacement SIM doesn’t work, then I’d advise there may be a fault with the device and either contact the device manufacturer to investigate further, or look at changing device.

I will try getting a new sim, although the fact that it works in another phone makes me think that would not be successful. 

    I've tried getting a sim from ID mobile, but a very  unhelpful chatbot has made this impossible.

I'll give currys a go

Hi there ​@suilven666, to speak to an agent, you need to type “Speak to an agent” and then you’ll get passed onto one via the bot. 

 

Currys can of course help getting a replacement SIM, so we hope that helps, but if not, get back in touch.

I just fixed mine, type reset network settings into settings and reset network.

At most you have to put your WiFi password in again but mine started dialing voicemail after previously giving engaged tone for all calls.

The only error evident was call forwarding when trying to change setting (you cant turn it off as Id network tell you to do you can only change it to forward when unavailable) was it comes up with error if you choose forward when unreachable, so I chose forward when unavailable which I assume will allow it to ring for a bit.

There are two other forwarding options too but they relate to forwarding all calls etc.

I reset my network settings a day or two ago. I think it might have worked, but not absolutely sure, as there have been occasions when a call does not go through to voicemail
