I changed jobs a few months ago and now work in the GU35 postcode area on an industrial estate. There is almost no mobile phone signal (on any network).   With the merger of Vodafone, Three and iD, any chance that things will improve in my lifetime - and ideally within the next few weeks? It’s pretty poor that in an area picked for housing expansion with new houses going uo all over the place, there is almost no signal for a mile or so. Someone at work mentioned the presence nearby of an aerial testing site which may mean that no mobile phobne signals are allowed…. is this true? WIsh I had known this before accepting the job offer…..

Hello @ChrisM

Thank you for getting in touch.

We hope that asides from the issues you are experiencing that the new job is going well!

Can you please confirm the full postcode for the area and we will take a look in to this further from our side. Also, are you using 4G or 5G to connect?

Thanks,

Natalie

Hi @ChrisM

Taking a look the area of GU35 9HH could be quite patchy generally, 5G would be very weak if not completely unavailable, along with there being a known outage.

Have you tried in the device settings connecting to 4G/LTE instead of 5G?

Tom

The whole idea of buying a 5G phone was to have the latest and not need to worry about upgrading due to technology! There is a large development of new housing just down the road and more new houses planned - will these new residents be conned into moving and then find that there is little or no mobile phone signal?  This is a town selected for huge growth so why isn’t the mobile phone coverage being developed there?

5G is not yet ubiquitous and your 5G phone will still connect to 4G, please try changing the settings so it connects to 4G only and see if it improves any
