can't connect to 4g data


I'm having trouble connecting to my data via 4g/4g+. The only way I have been able to do so is by enabling 5g but that is draining my devices battery. 

If anyone else has experienced this problem how did you fix it?

Firstly please can you reset your network settings and see if that improves anything.

Secondly I would advise checking the network status checker to see if there are any issues in the area.

I would also advise to check your network settings and ensure that you select a 4G and 5G option.

I am and thought it was just me.  I’ve been changing settings but it still hasn’t worked.

Very many thanks for the reply.  I think I have just reset the network settings (Network coverage and then click for automatic?? iPhone 15 running IOS18).  I’ve also checked the network status and found that 5G isn’t in my area, so I have selected 4G.

 

I think I’ve fixed it but if I have to do something else to reset the network settings, would you let me know please?

When I go to settings, I can’t find how to check network selection and only thing I can find is it is on Vodafone?

Hi @Paul Loseby,

Please can you try the below. If you're using iOS or iPadOS 15 or later, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Hi, I got it working - it was to do with primary and business lists which I hadn’t realised I had. However, the reception where I live is terrible and I’m always being cut off, can I do anything about that? It’s  an iPhone 14?

Taking a look the postcode of EH52 6PX is a very patchy area, we’d expect issues here generally, as well as there being an outage at the moment.
