I have been with ID for around 9months now and switched from EE but over the last 2/3 months my data coverage has been awful it always says I have 3/4bars of 4g but it never works, I work outside and I always need to use data for several things but it never seems to work

Have you checked your coverage and network status at the link below:

It may also be worth testing the SIM in a different handset and also a replacement SIM.
