Data ussues on iphone 15 max

I’ve purchased a deal from ID mobile last year, iPhone max pro.  However since the I’ve found mobile data very problematic.  Mobile data is slow and very patchy.

I can use data is a particular location one day, the next day it won’t work at all.  Restarting the phone makes no difference.  This is in the Swindon area.

I was in central London last week outside the British Museum went you use maps and no data.

Ive gone to the conclusion either the phone has an issue or the data service provided by ID mobile does!?!

Data access is very important to be, more so than phone given my use of music streaming, maps, browsing etc.

Any suggestions?

Hey there @lonesheep, we're very sorry to hear you're having issues with coverage.

Please take a look at our coverage checker, which will show you what your signal strength should be like in your area, for all of 3G/4G/5G, for both indoors and outdoors.

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/coverage#coverage-info

Furthermore, please take a look at our network partner Three's network status checker, which will show if there is any maintenance or performance upgrades going on in your area. If the website states that's the case, then it's likely that this is disrupting your coverage, and we hope that this is resolved soon for you.

https://www.three.co.uk/support/network_and_coverage/network_support

Please take a look at both of these. If you believe you should be experiencing better signal than you are, or if the networks status checker on Three's website isn't showing any upgrades or maintenance, then please do let us know or contact us via our live-chat:

https://www.idmobile.co.uk/live-chat

Have you also tried some of the troubleshooting methods below?

https://community.idmobile.co.uk/troubleshooting-177

Please also try restarting your phone, and resetting network settings.

Thanks,

Tyler

The data coverage map shows excellent coverage and no issues are ever reported when I check (admittedly I have to find somewhere with WiFi or wait until I have mobile data to do this!!).

the issue doesn’t seem to be an issue limited to myself as others have reported issues in Oxford (where I am frequently).  I’ve experienced these issues along the M4 corridor where I’m working.

Cardiff, Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and even London.  I’ve never been in a mobile network with such bad data coverage

Hi @lonesheep,

I would advise that you contact our Live Chat Team.

The team can log a ticket and have the relevant team check the coverage in the area.

No I was told my an advisor that he could fix it if I disabled iMessage and reset my network settings.  It didn’t.

i tried phoning but that just repeatedly asks for my pin which u can apparently find in the awful app somewhere.

do please register a fault for me.  Can’t I just go into currys and complain there, after all that’s where I picked up this awful contract from.  What’s the point in having a high street presence if the company isn’t using it?!?

Hey there @lonesheep, sorry to hear that.

Is your issue mainly with data, or do you having calling and texting issues to?

Thanks,

Tyler

As far as in know only data.

I tried 7 times to have a chat with id mobile yesterday using data.  Eventually phoned and that was fine.

Drive from Swindon to Milton Keynes today (what a life!) - Apple Music cut out several times along the route.

Hey there @lonesheep, sorry to hear that.

Would you be happy to try a free replacement SIM card?

If so, you can collect one for free from any Currys store during opening hours, and activate it to your contract here:

https://my.idmobile.co.uk/ja/web/cpw/sim-swap

Or, you can contact our live-chat who can post one out to you via DPD:

Thanks,

Tyler

The complaints advisor asked if I wanted a deadlock letter today.  No idea what that is and no details provided so I just said yes.
After searching online, I take it the complaints advisor is pointing me down the route of raising this with an ombudsman.  Fantastic service, 🤬

iD mobile and by extension currys - places I can steer clear from.
I’ve made a subject access request to get all the info from yourselves

Hey there @lonesheep, sorry to hear that. If this is being sent to the Ombudsman, then we wouldn’t be able to advise further from here.

Please keep an eye out for your deadlock letter.

Thanks,

Tyler
