Fun out of data, topped up but still no data connection


  Happily using my iPhone XR till yesterday.  I had unusually run out of data on my plan so topped 

Confirmed with iD that all was well, checked it had been credited but an hour later will not connected to the internet.  Swapped SIM to my husband’s phone same thing  reset Network access.  Switched on and off, rebooted… what now please.  I still have plenty of text and calls available is there a short helpline number I can phone,  I am in France so can’t pop into Curry’s.  Can I get an eSIM ?

Hey there ​@CStobbart, sorry to hear that. Are you on a pay monthly plan, or PAYG please?

 

Please note, regular data add-ons do not work abroad I’m afraid. If you run out of data in France, you will need to increase your bill cap to allow for out of contract charges to go through for extra data usage.

Thank you so much Tyler. The add on did work and I also discovered that in the end it wasn’t the SIM card or iD that was the issue.  I turned off my VPN and hey presto!  All fine again.  I changed the protocol and normal service has been resumed. Thank you so much for your reply. Best regards.
