Your status "we're fixing an issue in this area at the moment and aim to have things back up-and-running as soon as possible."  Please can you tell me how long this will last. It has been 3 days already.   Using the internet weems to be OK but I have not been able to make calls since Monday evening and it is now Thursday evening.

Thank you WelshPaul.  Seems my Moto G7 Power is never going to work now because it has not got VoLTE;  unless I get another network provider.

Hi @Rosietheriveter,

Welcome to the Community!

Sorry to hear that, are you still in contract?

I would advise contacting our Live Chat Team for the available options.

Kash

Yes I did contact them.  I found it quite difficult to contact ID mobile but I did eventually get them in live chat and in Facebook.  They were helpful in that they told me my phone was not going to work because 3G has been switched off.  I find this strange as my phone is a 4G phone.  I feel more publicity should have been given to the effect the switch off would have on 4G phones without VoLTE.  I have ordered a new phone  and in that sense the problem is resolved but I do not find it that satisfactory.

Hi @Rosietheriveter

I’m sorry you feel that way, we have communicated out for a while (as have Three UK) that the 3G switch off would be happening over the course of the year and before 2024 ends.

Tom

Since my phone was 4G I didn’t think the 3G switch off would affect me.

Guessing this is the same with me and my partner. We have Moto G6s, which support 4g. Had no expectation that 3g being discontinued would mean we would no longer be able to receive service. Why would we?

I’m glad I am not the only person to be unaware - although sorry to hear you are in the same boat of course.  I have bought a new phone now .

We’ve just been into Curry’s to speak with the customer service there. She suggested trying a new sim card, which my partner is trying now. If not, yes it’ll be new phones for us too. Just wish there had been better notifications as to potentially impacting people who’s phones have 4g (or an old sim?).

Hope all goes well with your new phone!
