When I check status it says a problem in my area since yesterday afternoon. I use my phone for work and the gym, which means I  cannot go to the gym or use my phone for work. This is urgent. Also my phone is not getting to the WIFI, it states no connection, I assume is this a hand set issue?

Hi there @Sheshe

When I check status it says a problem in my area since yesterday afternoon.

So that means there is an issue, which will cause connectivity problems. It would be advisable to keep checking and once the issue is resolved restart the phone.

I use my phone for work and the gym, which means I  cannot go to the gym or use my phone for work

This is urgent. Also my phone is not getting to the WIFI, it states no connection, I assume is this a hand set issue?

Mobile network issues should not have any bearing on a phone joining a WiFi network. If you toggle airplane/flight mode and then turn just toggle the WiFi back on does the phone connect to WiFi?

So with flight/airplane mode on and just the WiFi your phone isn’t connecting to the WiFi?

Or the mobile connection is still down?

This morning network status says excellent services but it is still not working, also still not linking up to the WIFI even though there is WIFI. Looks like it is a phone issue now.

Well that does kinda points to 2 different issues but the timing of both is most bizarre.

A phone will connect (even without a SIM card) to a WiFi network. If yours doesn’t then maybe a network reset is needed. And maybe even a restart of the router it’s trying to connect to. Note that with a network reset is deletes all saved WiFi passwords etc, possibly saved Bluetooth connections and resets the mobile network - it does not delete your data.

Again for the loss of connectivity to iD, restarting the phone can sometimes fix this, as can a network reset and if it still doesn’t connect even a replacement SIM - the latter can be picked up from any Currys store for free and would need activating via the iD app/account.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It really is bizarre!

I went to Currys yesterday to get a physical SIM, I have turned the phone off and reset network settings about 20 times. All the same issue. I will be trying to get hold of another phone later to see if it is a phone issue or network.

Wish me luck, I will let you know how I get on.

Did you activate the replacement SIM? If not you need to do this first.

But if the fault is still showing this will still affect your signal.
