new customer struggling….

I am a new customer.  Transferred my old number to ID, which completed yesterday.  I cannot make any calls nor send/receive WhatsApp messages.  Please would somebody be good enough to advise how to fix this.  Step-by-step instructions greatly appreciated!

  • What exactly do you hear - if anything - when you dial-out? 
  • Likewise, what exactly do your hear when calling your mobile number? 
  • Can you send / receive SMS text messages?
  • Have you tried a RESET NETWORK SETTINGS on your iPhone SE?

Should add that there is no problem when at home (using Wi-Fi); the problem is when I am out and about - unable to make/receive calls or WhatsApp messages when away from Wi-Fi.

Making/receiving calls would be a problem if your handset with the iD SIM isn’t compatible with iD 4G Calling (VoLTE), @BertieTech

Have you checked your phone’s compatible?

Hi Andewhite, yes, my phone is on the list as compatible.  It’s an iPhone SE.

The iD approved list appears a little confusing, as Apple have released 3 different iPhone SE models, but iD Mobile only list 2. 

If you’ve got the latest iPhone SE model it should work, but in areas where the iD Mobile 3G mobile network has been switched OFF, sometimes calls stop working. 

Check your mobile number is shown in Settings > Phone > My Number - add your number if it’s missing. 

If your number is shown, then try changing the number - for example: change 07 to +44 7, or change +44 7 to 07, and Save, then restart your iPhone.

Could you please check the number on the handset is correct. andewhite has provided the instructions of how this should show in the handset settings. 

If the number is not there, you will need to manually add this.

Ok, so WhatsApp is now working following advice above.  Calls still not coming through and unable to dial out….
