This is not good, I have mine sim only in a portable modem, and took it for a walk, and a drive, it never seems to get all the bars in the 4G graphic, and sometimes disconnects when I use it at home, is this just a cheap service that does not work well I wonder..

Out of interest, how much did your portable mobile broadband modem cost, @BruceVA

Hi

I did a like for like replacement, not a brand I would choose but one of a few the lodge park staff support, so a TP M7350 via Amazon for just shy of £60.

Hey there @BruceVA, sorry to hear that. If you’re using your iD SIM card in a device outside of the approved handsets on our website, then unfortunately, we can only advise that the SIM may or may not work, and it’s difficult to troubleshoot as the device your using isn’t officially supported by ourselves.

We can only troubleshoot with issues using our SIM cards inside approved handsets, as we cannot guarantee the SIM will work in devices outside of them, or how they’d perform, even if/when they do sometimes work.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi Tyler

thanks for your response, much appreciated, and I can understand your comments, there is so much kit out there, however this point was not made clear before I purchased the sim in good faith with a two year arrangement;

Alas the basic problem, is where I want to use it, in TP-Link modem, in a lodge park in that post code, so a fixed location,  is that there is next to no coverage on 4G, it having observed it now for a couple of days, seems to display “No bars” and is unable to connect to 4G, when I walk elsewhere say to Shaldon village I get 4 Bars, and its much better -

Is it possible to cancel the contract, given that that ID is unable to provide and coverage other than <20k from time to time?

Thanks for your time

Hi there @BruceVA, no problem at all, and sorry to hear that. In terms of data not working, if it’s in the TP-Link Modem you’re using it, then we wouldn’t be able to advise why it’s not working, and whether it’s anything to do with coverage, or not I’m afraid, as it’s not supported with us.

If you have the SIM card in an approved handset device, and you have coverage issues, we can of course look into that further for you.

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi.

So you're suggesting I have to buy one of your handsets to prove there's no coverage, if I buy a handset and prove there is no coverage, do you refund the cost of the handset as well as perhaps be able to cancel my contract.

I have tried the SIM in another phone, a pixel 8 and there is no signal, occasionally there is but it's only a few k up and down.

From my perspective the sim in the area of the UK where I wish to use it is not fit for purpose, I have an unlimited data package but you guys are unable to provide coverage in the area for which I wish to use it, therefore, I'm not able to get unlimited data!

I'm really just looking here to cancel my contract. I've already paid a couple of months before I was able to adequately test this, I'm happy to write that off but I don't really want to be paying for the next year and a half!

@BruceVA,

We haven’t advised to purchase a new handset but the device you are using the SIM in isn’t a compatible device.

If you have a handset that you can test the SIM in, please test the services and let us know how you get on.

Hi

I have done this in my pixel 8, also much the same on a Motorola...  no signal/no bars for most of the time occasionally just getting the smallest of the bars in the triangle icon, this is in the static location where I wish to use it (TQ14 0BG).

Which I agree is a little bit odd because I look at the coverage map for three and it says there should be good coverage but this does not seem to pan out in reality.
