I moved back to id mobile yesterday from O2 where I got great 5g service.   Since putting in id mobile sim only receive 4g.

1. Have checked coverage for postcode and says no problems

2. Have check compatibility of my phone and is 5g ready (samsung s20 ultra 5g)

3. Have checked APN settings and correctly set.

So what us the problem as I have 14 days to sort out b4 I cancel contract as not giving service that I expected.   Reading on threads here seems to be a big problem and needs sorted.   3 network works fine here where I live so problem is at other end.

Not necessarily @Paulb2301

As you only joined a few days ago you can cancel your contract and only pay for the time you used the SIM on the phone.

It looks like you’re using your previous phone, but if not factory reset the iD phone and send that back too - you’d need to pay the returns cost and I would highly recommend using a signed for delivery service.

You may want to check that again….

https://www.three.co.uk/content/experience-fragments/threedigital/uk/en/site/mvno/coverage-checker/idmobile.html

(it defaults to 4G, then toggle to 3G and 5G)

Not wanting to cheese you off but that postcode does not have 5G using Three’s network and iD piggyback on Three. The closest 5G is near Dundee.

Looks like I'm stuck with a 5g phone but only 4g service as in a 2 year fixed contract not exactly what I wanted but will have to live with it.   Would have been good to know this info before purchasing, rather than advertising that all Sims come 5g ready.
