Hi there @Lowie

Firstly I’d check to see if there’s any ongoing outages/maintenance using your postcode in here:

https://www.three.co.uk/content/experience-fragments/threedigital/uk/en/site/mvno/network-status-checker/idmobile.html

The next thing is to check to see if 3G has been turned off, again using your postcode:

https://www.three.co.uk/content/experience-fragments/threedigital/uk/en/site/mvno/coverage-checker/idmobile.html

The link above defaults to 4G, simply click on 3G.

If 3G has indeed gone, have a read and check your settings:

What you need to have is either 4G or LTE, but either MUST have VoLTE enabled.

If both phones are set up correctly, the only other possible next step would be to try replacement SIM cards. You can pick these up FOC from your local Currys.

No problem @Lowie, happy to help.

I too am having some considerable call quality issues myself, so have the 1st link I posted open and have got into a bit of a routine in checking it every now and then!

Mines been off and on for months, but hope yours isn’t going to be that long.

I would, if you haven’t already, check both phones are ready for the 3G switch-off.

Hi @Lowie

Sorry to hear this, how long have you both had this issue?

Does this happen everywhere or only certain location(s)?

Tom

I should have mentioned this earlier. What about using Wi-Fi calling @Lowie

https://community.idmobile.co.uk/our-network-139/what-is-wi-fi-calling-44962

If you have home internet, it uses the WiFi from your router.

Again, no problem @Lowie

The link should put you into the right area. If you can’t find the setting option let me know what phones you have there and I’ll do my best to help.

For example on my Samsung phone I simply press the green call button, tap on the three vertical dots to the upper right of the screen, tap settings and Wi-Fi calling should be visible. From there just toggle it to on and come back out that screen.

Yes enabled WiFi calling didn't work ah well hopefully the network gets sorted sooner rather than later

Oh okay. WiFi calling should have helped with poor quality/reception, though it still needs the phone to have a network signal - even a weak signal should have still worked. Having said that, yesterday I too couldn’t make use of WiFi calling as the signal was nigh on non existent here.

My wife speaks to her mum and our daughter on a regular basis (they too live close by and have signal issues) and the call quality is way better - in fact without wifi calling our daughter wouldn’t be able to make or receive any calls.

When (fingers crossed) your area gets resolved you should find the call quality is way better than using the ‘normal’ method. Obviously WiFi calling only works in range of a WiFi signal.

Hi @Lowie,

It sounds like they may be fixing/improving congestion at the site.

I would advise contacting our Live Chat Team so that they can check it out.
