Northumberland Coverage

Hi All,

I Live in South East Northumberland & have ported over from EE, is anyone else having issues with network coverage? When with EE I could access anything, no matter where I was, but now with ID it’s like stepping back 20years, the service is dire? I’ve checked the coverage checker & all seems good, no outages, but the 5G is sooooooo slow!!!! Just wanted to check others views & see if anyone else is having issues?

many thanks.     Dougy

Thanks for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing with the service.

Can you please confirm your full postcode and which handset you are using?

Thanks

Thank you for confirming.

I have checked the area and there are no known issues detected.

Are you connecting via 3G/4G or 5G please?

Thanks

Natalie

Thanks Natalie,

Yes I’d used your coverage & issue checker & found both to indicate ok, I’m using 4G & 5G but both seem woefully slow in comparison to what I was used to with EE?

Thanks Again.     Dougy

Thank you for your reply.

Are all services running slow or any particular?

If the issue with with data, are you able to run a speed test and share the results?

Thanks,

Natalie

Hi Natalie,

All services when using 4 or 5G tend to run slow? Just done a speed test? Not sure what it’s meant to be?

Further speed tests on 5G struggled even to do this? Surely 5G should be faster than this?

Hi @Dougy Ternent

5G doesn’t always mean it’ll be faster, it may be weaker in some instances than 4G. 36 down and 8 up is pretty decent, but it won’t always be the same speed no matter where you go.

It may be worth switching to 4G manually in the device and seeing how that compares.
