I live in the UK but am on holiday in the Maldives. I’m on 5g and never have problems connecting to WiFi in UK. However, here in the Maldives when I try to connect it connects successfully but, a few seconds later, I get the message “no internet connection” This has occurred everyday for the last week. In my room I also have an iPad and laptop and my wife has her mobile - all 3 devices connect without problems. My roaming is switched off. Please advise what I should do.

Probably best speak to the hotel about the Wi-Fi network for hotel guests, @Gag Sidhu

Maybe you’ll need to open Safari, after you’ve connected to the hotel Wi-Fi, then login to the hotel network to get an Internet connection.

Because you’re using the hotel Wi-Fi network, not a mobile data network, iD Mobile won’t have any influence over the hotel Wi-Fi network in the Maldives.

Hello @Gag Sidhu

Thanks for getting in touch.

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues when attempting to connect to WiFi in your hotel.

Can you please confirm the make and model of your handset?

Thanks,

Nat

Have you double-checked the hotel Wi-Fi password you’re using is correct, @Gag Sidhu

Hello Nat. My phone is an Apple iPhone 12 mini, iOS Version 18.3.1 and 4 years old. The password that I input for the hotel’s WiFi is the correct one. The process that I follow is to select the hotel’s WiFi under Settings. It immediately connects to the WiFi and 2 seconds later a message ‘no internet connection’ appears next to the tick under the hotel’s WiFi name. Hope you can help.

Hi @Gag Sidhu

Thank you for confirming.

As @andewhite has advised, some WiFi connections require a login on a dedicated web page.

Please try and connect again and then open a browser. This should then produce a login page to complete the details required by the hotel.

If the issues persists, please reach out to the hotel directly.

Thanks,

Nat
