Outage

Into the 3rd day of no signal in EX8 3LF. All other areas of EX8 are OK, tested my phone there. My 5G phone has data only no call signal. My wife's 4G phone has nothing. This is a bank holiday weekend so I doubt it will be fixed for days. I'll make a formal complaint. This is affecting all Three network users including idmobile, Smarty and Three. Coincidentally Open Reach were doing overhead cable works the day it went down. Help please. I have reported it, been "escalated" but nothing so far from that Team. Network checker shows no reports for my postcode!!! How come, what about my own report!!!

Hello. I live in same area. Status checker (not coverage checker) says there's an issue. Its been there for a few days. Ive spent ages thinking it was my mobile phone; wasted a lot of time

Anyway when I saw your message I had an online chat. It was apparently highlighted to iD early on 22 May. They say its not their fault. Maybe local council? Another telecom provider? Or...?

I can't see any work being done anywhere along the road

So now there's 2 of us. A trouble shared is a trouble doubled!

Regards

Wow, and Hi. Thanks for the reply. I'm sure there's more than just us. I'm in Scott Drive, where on 22 May Open reach we're doing overhead cable work, 4 vans present. It went down that lunchtime. Too coincidental in my view. I've reported it to ID and Smarty, all on Three network. They both say no issues but will look into it. My wife's phone has nothing, mine no calling but infrequent data.

So frustrating. Their chat people are rubbish. I'm looking at moving now away from three network but I have the best roaming deal I can get anywhere so am reluctant. I'll move my wife though. Keep in touch.... I am chrsfrm@gmail.com

How long until it’s fixed? Who knows! I guess it depends on what caused the fault.

I think as it was the majority of 3 days outage and pretty widespread in EX8 postcodes then some form of compensation (or gesture of goodwill) is appropriate. In my case due to having no calling signal we were unable to contact our unwell 90yr old mother, causing us much anxiety. I will make a formal complaint if needed and I suggest others affected should too.

Just to say I'm in EX8 down near the front. I can call out today although the issue mesage is still there. L

Hey there @Chris Freeman & @LTW, we’re very sorry to hear this. As advised by @WelshPaul, there does appear to be some on-going work in the area, and we hope this is resolved ASAP. As with any network, some issues can occur and work needed to be taken out, and we/Three look to resolve these issues ASAP.

When on-going work is occuring, we advise the customer to give it 7-days from when they notice it, to see if it’s resolved, as not all issues are a simple fix, and if still on-going after 7-days, please do get back in touch and we can investigate further and look into a potential gesture of goodwill for your patience.

We do however need to give it time for the work on-going to be looked into and resolved, as with any network, issues can arise that need to be fixed or upgraded.

Thanks,

Tyler
