Hey there @Georgie Fromet, sorry to hear that.

What phone do you have, and what’s your full postcode?

How long has this been an issue for?

Do texts and data work okay?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hi @Georgie Fromet

Here are some answers that may help:-

If you're having to turn your phone on and off to receive calls, it could be a software issue, a problem with your SIM card, or a network problem. Try restarting your phone, checking your network settings, and ensuring Airplane Mode is off, or contact your carrier for further assistance.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

Possible Causes:

  • Software Glitch: A temporary software issue could be preventing your phone from properly connecting to the network and receiving calls.
  • Airplane Mode: Ensure Airplane Mode is turned off, as it disables all wireless connections, including the ability to make and receive calls.
  • Do Not Disturb: If Do Not Disturb mode is enabled, it might be silencing incoming calls.
  • Network Issues: Poor network coverage or a temporary outage could cause problems with receiving calls.
  • SIM Card Problems: A loose, damaged, or misaligned SIM card can cause connection issues.
  • Call Forwarding: If call forwarding is enabled, incoming calls might be routed to another number, preventing them from reaching your phone.
  • Wi-Fi Calling: If Wi-Fi calling is enabled, and Wi-Fi is unavailable, it might cause problems with call reception.
  • Software Updates: Outdated software can sometimes lead to connectivity issues.
  • Hardware Issues: In rare cases, a hardware problem with your phone or SIM card could be the culprit.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Restart Your Phone: A simple restart can often resolve temporary software glitches.
  2. Check Network Settings: Ensure your phone is connected to the correct network and that network settings are properly configured.
  3. Disable Airplane Mode: Make sure Airplane Mode is turned off.
  4. Disable Do Not Disturb: If Do Not Disturb mode is enabled, turn it off.
  5. Check SIM Card: Remove and reinsert your SIM card to ensure it's properly seated.
  6. Contact Your Carrier: If the issue persists, contact your network provider to inquire about any known issues in your area or to get further assistance.
  7. Check for Software Updates: Ensure your phone's software is up to date.
  8. Check for Call Forwarding: Ensure call forwarding is not enabled.
  9. Check for Wi-Fi Calling: If Wi-Fi calling is enabled, ensure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
  10. Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try a factory reset, but be aware that this will erase all data on your phone.

If you tell us what phone you have then we may be able to help you further x

I have the same issue - according to 3 website and ID mobile there’s an issue at the postcode - what I can’t an answer to is how long and what they’re going to do about it as my 86 year old mother can’t ring me 😡

@PP19  Hello I've replied to you other post on the subject. The bottom line is while 3 has acknowledged a problem in your area we have to rely on them to carry out the work to resume service. Unless they (3) have posted a time frame to when this may be resolved there not much that IDMobile can do for now.

Do you have WiFi at your location and do you know if you phone supports Wi-Fi Calling? If so you can use your phone on WiFi for the time being.

Wi-Fi Calling is a service that lets you make and receive calls using a Wi-Fi network. Indoor blackspots can stop you from getting connected, but with Wi-Fi Calling, that's not a problem. It gives you clearer calls in more places than ever before.

@PP19  Yes if your phone has the ability for Wi-Fi Calling and you have WiFi. If  your not to sure use the link in my previous post to you and enter your phone model in the search, of search on Google ie Samsung S267 does it support Wi-Fi Calling. You can also reply back here with you phones mod3 detail's if that helps.
