Phone reception getting progressively worse and almost unusable

My phone  coverage is getting worse and worse. Indoors I get nothing and out I can sometimes message. Occasionally I can make calls but they always break up.

This isn't an issue for a remote area, it is the same in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and Dumfries.

I have cleaned the SIM and no change. Tried my partners SIM and that works fine.

I basically have a product that is unusable. Suggestions please.

Hi @mikejdow

I’m sorry to hear this, what network is your partner’s SIM with?

Have you tried the iD Mobile SIM in another device?

Hey there @Douglas Peter Edgar, you should receive good 4G signal here, and no 3G or 5G signal at all.

Is the issue with data speeds?

Thanks,

Tyler

No data is fine. I have to repeatedly had to stop in the middle of a call as they can't hear me from in side my home. I'm in Edinburgh

Hey there @Douglas Peter Edgar, sorry to hear that. What phone do you have please and is the issue only in this area?

Thanks,

Tyler

I have a Samsung 24s ultra. .

I have now changed my setting from my prefered 5G to LTE and got through with no problem ( from exactly the same location )

So why should I bother with 5G ?

Hey there @Douglas Peter Edgar, as mentioned, the area has no 5G, so 5G signal would be very weak or wouldn’t work at all.

To confirm, you’re not having issues using 4G/LTE now? If so, that’s because there’s only 4G in the area, so we’d recommend keeping to 4G only, at least when in this area.

Thanks,

Tyler
