Based in Lanark, apparently great coverage, 3 months now call signal drops or is muffled and scratchy. Funnily enough I can hear the waiting music fine for 40 minutes then can't hear people.

Please help

Hi @shianlanark

We’re sorry to hear this.

Have you tried any troubleshooting methods?

I've done all of the trouble shooting methods.

Hanging out of third floor windows doesn't help. A different phone doesn't help. Turning aeroplane mode on and off and rebooting doesn't help

Even using the boost of WiFi for my calls doesn't work when standing next to a router.

Out with of my home town signal is perfect, its like a mast has been removed from my area. It was fine for years and now it's rubbish

Thank you @shianlanark

Can you please complete a manual network search via the settings?

I tried manual network search, the connection on calls is quiet and has static. When I call using online messengers it's perfectly clear

The signal was great until recently and I've not changed address or phone 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry to hear that @shianlanark. Have you tried resetting network settings?

Is it only calls affected?

Thanks,

Tyler

I have tried everything suggested across all the  ‘Community Help’ .

Only calls affected, doesn't matter if I include the daft call over WIFI. I would like to call over a mobile network, up until recently I had years of this perfect calls.

Should I just give up on ID as a suitable carrier for this area until they have replace whichever mast they have removed from the area? Or am I destined to have to fork out for extra data packs and only call over internet apps like a child?

Hey there @shianlanark, thank you for clarifying. I can’t see any work on-going in your area currently.

Can you confirm:

  1. Are you connected to 4G or 5G?
  2. Do you have VOLTE enabled?
  3. To clarify, does the issue happen with Wi-Fi calls also?

Thanks,

Tyler

  1. 4g - the moto G31 isn’t capable of 5g
  2. no -  the moto G31 isn’t capable of 5g
  3. WhatsApp calling and Facebook calling are fine

The issue is the drop in call quality and performance. It is far from professional, reasonable or possible to call a school, doctor or government body through WhatsApp or Facebook.

Funnily enough calling over WIFI isn’t my priority, being able to place an actual real ‘old school’ call is my concern

Hi @shianlanark

We’re very sorry to hear this.

Have you tried the SIM in a different device?

Also, when you say you’ve tried calls over Wi-Fi, have you tried enabling Wi-Fi calling?

Tried in 3 different phones, enabled WiFi calling

I have literally tried everything on every post in this forum.

I'm not the only person in the area using 3 masts who has noticed a massive drop in call quality. There might not be work ongoing on the area, but there's definitely a mast missing or faulty.

I chose ID because it used 3 masts, perfect for 5 years. Now its like going back to the 90s
