poor coverage

I'm messaging on behalf of my elderly mother who isn't tech savvy. I've tried using the online chat, but gave up as a bad job after being told the wait time was 90 mins!  When I joined iD you could actually speak to someone.

Anyway, rant over, I convinced my mum to sign up to iD on a 12 month contract. Unfortunately, even though the coverage map says different, she isn't getting any calls in her home. No one can contact her.  I have the same issues when I'm visiting her.

What options are available to her, I think she's already outside the cooling off period.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Stephen.

Check NETWORK COVERAGE page for her postcode.

Is your Mum’s device capable of receiving calls as 3g shuts down?

Older 4g phones may no longer work.

Thanks for your response.

I'm not sure tbh, however her phone works elsewhere, just that reception in her house is non-existent and since she no longer has a land line, she can't be reached.

The map says she should have good coverage, but the reality is different.

The response I have had to similar challenge is get used to it it's a c.... network and I'm stuck with it for 2 yrs. Tried calls WiFi enabled but that doesn't  seem any better. first step is formal complaint u r not recieving the service promised then on through the process. No quick fix I fear. This lot need shutting down I too don't have a landline and have had issues talking to medical services..!

Hello @Stephen Blackburn

Thank you for posting here on the community.

We are very sorry to hear your Mother is experiencing issues using the service in her home. Can you please confirm if this issue has been happening since joining or suddenly developed?

When checking the coverage via our website here, did you also switch to the status checker? If not, we recommend doing this to check for any known issues or network maintenance in the area.

Information regarding the 3G switch off and 4G compatible handsets can be found here

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Nat
