poor network!

This network is so poor! So many times during conversations, the person on the otherend suddenly can't hear me, even though we both have perfect signal!

Not happy at all!

In that case @Stephen Buss, I’d suggest contacting our Live Chat team. They can raise a ticket and liase with our network partner 3UK to find a resolution. Thanks.

Hey @Stephen Buss,

Sorry to hear you’ve been having issues, does this happen at a particular postcode?

Thanks.

Hey @Stephen Buss,

That’s strange, as the Coverage Checker suggests you should be okay. What make and model phone are you using? Have you tried any simple troubleshooting steps, such as removing and reinserting the SIM and restarting the handset?

Thanks.

Hi, I live in west Cumbria and my phone is next door to useless, with poor coverage.

I did check the coverage before moving to iD and all appeared fine, DOH!! Of course it did, the information was provided by iD, I only have myself to blame!!!

Can not wait until my contract is done, I'll be jumping and clicking my heels as I move to another provider and wave goodbye to iD.

Hi @Jeff Wilson,

Welcome to the Community!

Have you checked the coverage in your area?

These coverage checkers are clearly unreliable. During the recent power outage caused by storm Eowyn I had to go several metres from my house to get a signal. Yet the coverage checker shows my postcode has good signal indoors and outside. Also a road I travel quite often shows as having good 4G signal. But the signal disappears for a considerable distance.

There is no fault with the phone. I have tested this on numerous occasions. I would point out this applies to other networks as well. I previously was with Vodafone and had the same problems.

Given the serious problems caused by the storm, and the fact that everyone will eventually be switched over to digital voice. I think it's necessary for the main network owners to do more to achieve near 100% coverage.

After reading your comment I now believe all coverage maps are not only unreliable. But downright false (fake even?).

Hi @Gordon Palmer

Thanks for your post and we are very sorry to hear you experienced issues during the storm.

How is the service now?

The coverage checker provides us with the expected level of service in the area based on multiple factors such as distance to masts and the surrounding areas.

There are many factors that can impact this and in your case, it is likely the storm was the reason for the issues. As well as the coverage checker, we provide a service status checker in order to check for and monitor live issues that may be impacting coverage. This is available here

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues and we will be happy to help.

Thanks,

Nat

The storm may have had some impact on this occasion. But as I mentioned in my original reply, there is never any 4G signal in the house. As I also said, it's the same with other networks so I guess I'll have to live with it until another mast is installed or an existing one has its output power boosted.
