poor service

In the last month or so my signal has deteriorated to the point when there are times when I can’t get a signal to make calls. This happens most annoyingly at home TN4 9RB and also when I am in London N5, where I am a frequent visitor. Pease advise?

Only posting to point out you (@tobyodone) do not have, based on this estimated coverage result, any usable 5G at your postcode.

(same for 3G too btw)

Welcome to an absolute shambles of 4G (I have the exact same issue at my home address). Sadly in my case my darling wife has has enough, I’m getting it in the ear on an hourly basis as I chose iD and looks like she’ll be dragging me to another provider in roughly 45 days. I tried WiFi calling and even this drops when my mobile network signal dips too low. Having to resort to using ye olde telephone as its better than my mobile currently.

Assuming you’ve got a home Wi-Fi network, have you tried the iD WiFi Calling service at home, @tobyodone

Not sure what to suggest for N5 area.

Yep have tried that. Sometime works. It’s not just at home though. It happens when I am outside my home in the nearby neighborhood. When I can’t access to the internet even though my phone says I have 5G coverage it is very frustrating. That is when I test it at home without internet and find it doesn’t work there either.

Unfortunately @tobyodone, the service providers online coverage checkers are a theoretical prediction of the likely reception for any given postcode.

Have you tried the OFCOM online mobile checker, which shows predicted results for all the networks for a given postcode?

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/mobile-coverage

Otherwise, the https://mastdata.com website has actual real-world coverage details for many places in the UK.

Hey there @tobyodone, sorry to hear this.

What phone do you have please?

Have you tried resetting network settings, or seeing if the phone works better in another device at all?

Thanks,

Tyler
