Hi,

I've been with ID for 18 months and my end of contract can't come quick enough, I can barely use my phone for calls, internet etc. phone states connected to 4g but with only 1 or 2 bars!!! Been to London and wouldn't work, been to Edinburgh and wouldn't work yet just spent 10 days in Turkey and bought an add on and it work like never before... perfect over there!!! Can I cancel my contract due to ID not providing me a usable service??

It’s a bit dramatic to claim there’s no coverage at Cardiff, don’t you think? After all, it’s a mobile network, so coverage isn’t guaranteed in any one location. All of the UK networks will have limited coverage in certain areas, and issues can arise even where there is coverage.

FYI - Those coverage maps are a joke. Read the disclaimer!

Here are some sections from the terms & conditions that might help, @John Payton.

Hi @John Payton

We’re very sorry to hear this.

Have you reported this issue before?

How long have you been having coverage issues?

Does this affect all services or just calls and data?

No this is the first time I've reported, it's been going on for months now, don't try any advice on my phone as iive tried everything under the sun, but like I said when I was in Turkey it was brilliant, so I know it's your network not good enough...

I’m in the same boat of you.

ID mobile is hands down the worst provider of data services in the Uk.  No coverage in Oxford, Bristol or Cardiff and London is patchy.

Istanbul was perfect!

counting down the days to leave in September

I wouldn't recommend this network to my worst enemy!!!

Hi @John Payton

Do you mostly get this issue indoors or outdoors?

Is the issue everywhere or just one postcode?

Also, @lonesheep  We’re sorry to hear this. Please could you provide your postcode?

It happens everywhere indoors and outdoors, can't even make a phone call at work, postcode at home is CH71QB and work is CH53NS.

Ive been through loads of communications with ID mobile.  I very nearly got a deal to leave my contract early…then the week later was told that was a mistake and the offer was retracted.

So now I just ensure that friends and colleagues I know are informed of my experience and I’m happy in the knowledge I have put many people (30+) off signing up. I worked in IT for 30+ years as a computer programmer and folks seem to value by experience…I especially like doing  this whilst in Currys…

Hi @John Payton

Have you tried your SIM in another device?

No I haven't, but if you read where I stated I was in Turkey recently my phone worked unbelievably well so I know my phone works fine and I haven't got another unlocked device to try my SIM in

Hi @lonesheep

Okay, if you’re already in touch with us via another channel, please continue there.

Please avoid disruptive behavior in a Currys store.

Tom

Hi @John Payton

Please try your SIM in another device, if you’re having issues absolutely everywhere in the UK it points more towards an equipment issue.

And where am I supposed to get a unlocked device to try my SIM in?

That’s rubbish! I’m currently in Cardiff and have three out of four bars of 5G signal. Last month, I was in Bristol and didn’t have any issues with coverage there either.

Hi @John Payton

Are you able to try a different SIM card in the device?

No because as you should know it locked to ID mobile so no other SIM will work

@WelshPaul i was at the docks.  ID said i should have perfect signal, yet data was dropping constantly.  I tried a chat with support via messaging and that was losing connection every 30 secs or so.  I sent them a screenshot to show the issue

I was told by ID to reset all my network settings…it didn't help.

This was using a iphone 16 pro max.

Hi @John Payton  iD does not lock handsets.

Please let us know how you get on, if you still are having trouble with this, a colleague in a Currys store would be able to assist you.
