I wish to purchase an ESIM and wish to roam in Germany / France / Italy - Dolomites -and Austria .
How much data do I need if I want to be able to use Google maps for directions when driving in these countries ? And also some local calls and text ?

Unfortunately there’s no concrete way to answer this question, the amount of data you’d use is entirely based on usage.
That being said, new plans with iD Mobile have a maximum of 30GB to use while roaming in inclusive countries (such as Germany, France, Italy, Austria) so if the SIM is going to used primarily for roaming, it may not be worth going over (or much more over) a 30GB allowance.
