Signal worse since switching from 3

I switched from 3 to iD and my signal has got noticeably worse at home. Same phone & nothing else has changed. I live on the edge of a large estate, a stones throw from a retail park. Is there a way to report this or get it checked? Thanks

Try the OFCOM online coverage checker for UK mobile operators, @Scarlet Pimpernel.

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/mobile-coverage

Thanks, that confirms we have got a poor signal now but is it possible something has changed? The whole area where approximately 20,000 people live is poor & the last update was in June

Anything is possible, @Scarlet Pimpernel

Perhaps Three UK are working on 3G network service shutdown in your area, which might impact network services prior to the actual 3G switch OFF in your area.

Hi @Scarlet Pimpernel

As @andewhite suggests, the 3G switch off is taking place and may affect your area, it’ll be worth checking the below;

Thanks but have checked the list & all appears to be in order on my (Samsung s21 5g) phone & 3G hasn't been turned off here yet. Allegedly i should have an 'excellent' 4G signal inside & out & even a 5G signal outside but i get 1 bar 4G at best & have never found 5G anywhere near by. Same on my wife's Google pixel. Only conclusion is the maps are a lie

Hi @Scarlet Pimpernel

Please could you let us know the postcode(s) where you’re having issues?

The maps themselves are estimates, not exact 100% guarantees.

If you do experience issues early on in your plan with signal all iD Mobile plans have a cooling off period in which to return, it may be worth considering.
