text messages error sending multiple times

Hi. I’ve just switched to ID from 3 and everything is working (4G/phone calls) apart from my text messages. When I text someone it says undelivered but is actually sending multiple times (according to the recipients).

Can anyone help at all? Thanks

Hi @Lucyywood17,

We’re sorry to hear about this. The settings on the phone may need updating after porting your number over.

If you’re on an iPhone, please try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If that doesn’t work, please try the below:

1)    Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2)    Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3)    Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4)    If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5)    Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6)    Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:”.

Android users can go to the network settings to reset the network settings too.

Hey Lucy,

We’d expected this to have been the cause.

Hopefully Apple can address this longstanding issue in a future update.

The second option worked for me also as my phone number was different due to transporting my old number to this new phone. thanks
