I have a Sony experia XZ2 and am unable to make or receive calls, however text messages are OK. I have gone through the settings and am on the 4G network and Volte should work by default, Help!!

Hi @dailukjai 👋🏻

The Xperia XZ2 is an approved handset for the 4G/VoLTE network with iD Mobile.
Do you see the ‘toggle’ for VoLTE under - settings / network and internet / mobile settings (or something similar)? And ‘LTE’  under ‘preferred Network Type’?

Both of these options need to be available for your handset to be able to connect to the VoLTE network.
If the options are not apparent,  type *#*#4636#*#* into the phone keypad you should see this screen and it will let you know if VoLTE has been provisioned/enabled on your handset….

If not, you may need to ‘Flash’ your phone to unbranded firmware (to unlock the VoLTE/WiFiCalling options). If you do a search for ‘how to flash xperia XZ2 to unbranded software’ you should find all the information you need if you want to go down this route.
Hope this helps x

Thank you for your help, looks like I’ll have to go down the ‘flash’ route.

Hey there @dailukjai, welcome to Community!

we’re sorry to hear you’re having issues with calls.

This is likely due to the 3G turn off that began rolling out recently. You can check if this is the case in your area below:

https://www.three.co.uk/support/network-and-coverage/coverage

Please read more below on what this is, and what to do:

https://community.idmobile.co.uk/3g-200/3g-is-being-switched-off-what-do-i-need-to-do-50979

If you have one of the phones from the below list, then 4G VOLTE and Wi-Fi calling should be able to be selected and work, and calls should still work:

https://community.idmobile.co.uk/help-with-your-phone-206/what-phone-are-compatible-with-the-id-mobile-network-67490

If you have a phone that isn’t on this list, then it may or may not work, but we don’t officially support any phones outside of these and cannot say for sure if it will or not.

If the issue persists after following the troubleshooting above and confirming if your phone is approved, then please let us know here so we can investigate further. If your phone isn't listed above, you'll need to upgrade/get a new phone I'm afraid to receive calls. Texts and data should continue to work either way.

Thank you,

Tyler
