Unable to make/receive calls/sms


Hi, I have an android Huawei P20 and over the last few weeks I'm no longer receiving sms or calls. I can make calls, but it never connects on the first attempt. If I restart my phone I get a flurry of sms, but they stop again. Any ideas?

Have you tried a replacement iD SIM, ​@Stusharps

Hi ​@Stusharps  sorry to hear this, I appreciate this must be very frustrating. Please let us know how you get on with a replacement SIM as ​@andewhite  has suggested.

I have the same problem, full network bars and 4g but can not make calls or recieve them, if I dial a call it just dials but never connects, if I reset the phone it will allow one or two calls then I get all the missed calls listed then have to reset or put the phone in airplane mode and back, the internet works but phone calls and recieved calls are useless. This is not a service worth paying. The phone is a Huawei P20 pro.

Yes, this is my exact issue. I've ordered a replacement sim, I'll let you know how I get on.

Called into Curry's picked up a new Sim and on line about 8pm last night, 24 hours on and so far no problems, looking like the old Sim was at fault but it's early days yet.

No new Sim not the solution, I still have the same problem, the phone doesn't indicate loss of network, had iD all five bars and 4g, but can't make a call or receive calls, yet the mobile Internet works ok. The Huawei P20 is listed as compatible with ID, I think a letter of complaint, the contract with ID is a two way thing, we agree to pay a fee and I'd provide phone and mobile data and they are failing.

Hi, same here. New sim arrived at the weekend and it hasn’t fixed anything. If I toggle flight mode or select a different network then back to ID I sometimes get calls/texts temporarily, but it never lasts

Hi,

 

My replacement sim was delivered at the weekend and it hasn’t changed anything - still no calls or texts. What can I try next?

Hi, I have tried all the things recommended to rectify the problem, reset the network, disabled WiFi, disabled Bluetooth, new Sim card, reinstall operating system Emui 12 Android 10, still not working, I can reset the phone or put in aeroplane mode and back then it will make calls and recieved calls for an hour or two, then not, although the iD symbol and 4g with all 5 bars are presented, it will dial the number but not connect, the phone tech at Curry's said "we don't sell these phones buy a Samsung", really helpful.

They’re not wrong! What do you expect them to do? Why haven’t you gone to the manufacturer of the phone (Huawei) for support? It’s their phone and their software.

You have three options:

  1. Seek support from the device manufacturer 
  2. Purchase a new device that iD Mobile supports
  3. Switch networks to one that works with your device.

For anyone still struggling with this issue I have found a solution - move to another provider. My Lebara Sim arrived and everything works perfectly
