Using in Amsterdam

I'm going to Amsterdam in a few days, looked on roaming areas and seems this isn't on. Is there any add ons to allow me to use?

Roaming is enabled by default. There are no roaming add-ons available. Amsterdam (Netherlands) is a Band 1 destination, and you can use up to 30GB of your data allowance while roaming there.

Hi WelshPaul thank you so much for your answer - didn’t actually think to look on Netherlands.

Just to be clear went to Amsterdam earlier in the month for one day on the ferry trip, come back to a phone bill over 100 quid for "rest of the world roaming" apparently Amsterdam "isn't included" I've raised a dispute because the Netherlands is a Band 1 country but I'm waiting for the outcome. Just be aware!

Hi @Kayleigh_S, the Netherlands is included as part of our free EU roaming.

However, roaming at sea isn’t.

When you’re at sea, we strongly recommend you don’t use your phone, and put it into flight mode until you get to shore. We’re advising this because roaming charges at sea can be very expensive.

If you’re going on a cruise, or taking a ferry on a journey like Dover to Calais, roaming charges could apply, even if you’re travelling between any of our ‘Inclusive Roaming’ countries.

The reason for this is because ferry and cruise operators often use their own phone network that’s operated via satellite. Connecting to a satellite network is much more expensive then connecting to a land operated network, so that’s why your usage at sea isn’t included as part of your Inclusive Roaming allowance.

More information on this can be found via the link below under “Ships, Ferries, Cruise Liners”.
