Perhaps ID Mobile/Carphone Warehouse/Currys should offer the choice of courier at checkout? Then it would be the customers responsibility to take up any issues directly as we would have chosen the courier ourselves.

Good luck and feel free to @ me if you have any more questions!

I’ve not as yet reported another post due to the fact the poster has accidentally included an image of their tampered with outer packaging but it’s showing all of their personal details - full name - full address - their actual phone number and you wonder how scammers get our details. I will report that post next.

But the problem/temptation may in fact be due to the detail on the postage labels🙄

It clearly shows it was coming from Currys in Nottingham, but also states Phone as the content. I have removed the recipients name from the lower half of the posted image and removed their account number and reference number.

Yes, very recognisable to an impulsive person.

It is and IMHO this needs to be addressed urgently, more so with this new GDPR malarkey, let alone others handling the packages and thus knowing the contents.

Ebay were the worst ones for this as many items purchased from ‘UK’ sellers actually come direct from China and those labels had ALL of my personal details on full display - my ebay username (is this really needed), my email address (why!) either my landline and mobile numbers (again for anyone to take a picture but why) and then with all of this info (granted the address is needed obvs) anyone could have called and armed with all of this info  probably tried to scam me. I did raise this with ebay and they put the blame on the seller (so not their fault - sounds familiar). I’ve not used ebay since November 2013.

I am still unbelievably frustrated that the onus is on my fellow customers to sort this all out. They did not employ DPD. But if iDM continue this practice they need to have it in their contract with DPD that ALL items are opened prior to the courier ticking it as delivered. If this suggestion is taken seriously then the customer should also be given the IMEI by iD once it’s marked as dispatched and the customer should be given the steps to open the packaging, power up the phone and verify the correct IMEI number. Only then can the customer be blamed if the phone is either the wrong one or fake.

I shall stop now as I may get carried away.

Hi Guys,

same issue here - now been a month and just today got the response - DPD have concluded the investigation and cannot find any issues with the delivery!.

With my delivery the phone (and cable) were missing - not even a fake one!

I will upload pictures later - the bag was ripped from the side and re-sealed using dpd tape! It looks like it could be the driver - who i remember before carefully placing the parcel and taking a photo before leaving giving a cheeky smile ( which i remember due to the trauma seconds later after the opening the package!)

I usually dont post on any forums - but need to make people aware.

Question - Why cannot ID mobile get apple to track the device using the imei number?

@RK3 The image I posted above should look familiar, it was yours🤐. I couldn’t say too much at the time as you’d unknowingly posted all of your personal details on the postage label that Currys put on the packaging and I didn’t want others to go looking until the staff took down your original image. But then I forgot to mention it to you. Again hope you didn’t mind me copying a bit of it - I’m just trying to get this sorted and if more victims stand together you would hope to think you have a better chance of actually getting someone off their bum and doing something to sort this once and for all.

I don’t know if I mentioned it on the other topic you’ve been posting on but pay close attention to that zoomed in label that Currys stuck on your parcel - It states it’s coming from Currys, it publicised your account number, gave out your order reference and told these thieving so-and-so’s it contained a phone

THAT IS SIGNIFICANT information RK3. DPD are not supposed to drop the phone off without you giving them the service PIN to receive the phone. This PIN is only given to you by iDM when the phone is dispatched. If you were never given this PIN or more to the point you never gave it to DPD how can iD or DPD say you received the phone - AFAIK DPD need to type this in on their scanner.

Get this checked and if iD can’t prove you were given the PIN or that you gave the PIN to DPD you might just have found a solution to your problem!

It’s amazing how ID reply to these posts with apologies and understanding customers frustrations yet they are the cause of the issue.

my girlfriend has just been scammed by ID mobile/DPD. Her phone never got delivered and is getting the same fob off and can’t cancel contract even though has proof phone never arrived.

serious problem going on here, why are ID/Carphone Warehouse still using DPD with all thefts going on? They must be in on scam why else do they not help consumers? It’s disgusting!
All we can do as consumers is warn all friends and family never to order from these crooks EVER!!! Public must be warned and protected from all these companies they are are all SCAMMERS!!!

None was requested by ID Mobile - so all this time were telling me lies

Now only option i have is  - Legal action v ID Mobile - Currys

Not DPD - as i dont have contract with them!! - They will tell you to take Legal action against DPD ( over the phone not email or chat) BUT you wont get anywhere like that  - just wasting more money.

Remember - Contract is with ID so claim has to be agianst them also
