Cancel data add on

Hi,

I purchased a data add on, which I thought was just for 1 month (apparently it isn't) as my son is in the last month of his contract, his phone is broke and no longer connects to WiFi. Now he is due to get an upgrade and I cannot find out how to cancel the add on? Obviously once he gets his upgrade he will no longer need the add on! How do I cancel it please?

10gb for 12 months. Why would I pay £30 extra per month for 10gb? I would've just changed the package for that price.

You might be able to transfer the add-on’s data allowance to the upgrade plan?
What’s your son’s data allowance with the chosen upgrade plan?

Good luck anyway.

I'm not sure how they work tbh... Is that 10gb extra data every month for an additional monthly fee of £30 with a minimum of 12 months commitment, or is it a one time fee of £30 for 10GB of extra data that lasts up to 12 months (or until it's all used up)?

If it's £30 a month for 10GB data then that's just insane prices.

I think it’s the latter option… buy 30GB data add-on for £30, which lasts for up to 12 months (unless used up sooner).

10GB data for £30/month would be crazy - many better deals than this are available out there.

The “iD Mobile phone upgrade” page says:

It looks as if it's £30 a month extra for 10gb of data each month for 12 months! I was under the impression that I'd paid £30 for 10gb of data that could be used over 12 months. He only had 2gb of data on his plan as he was always connected to WiFi, the phone is smashed though and it won't connect to WiFi which is why I paid £30 for the last month of his contract. His upgrade is due today, I am hoping that the add on can be cancelled off his new plan.

The “Get more monthly allowance with Pay Monthly add-ons” community article states recurring add-ons aren’t available nowadays, so perhaps you’ve got exactly what you thought you were purchasing (£30 for 10GB of data that could be used over 12 months).

The 10GB add-on for £30 is a once off payment. The add-on itself is valid for 12 months. It does not mean you will be charged £30 every month.

Hope that helps.

Hi @Dan.Gorton,

The information provided by @FlowerGirl is correct, the add-on you have purchased is only billed once and that data will last for 12-months or until it is all used up; whichever comes first. This is not an additional monthly charge.
