Have iD got a fix for Android not receiving OTP or verification codes?


I ported in from Vodafone 2 days ago and since have been unable to access some of my personal accounts due to an inability to receive verification codes and OTPs. I desperately need this resolved. Lots of advice regarding Apple and iMessage but I'm Android Oppo!

Okay @Jawsgirl86, try forcing your handset to use bog-standard SMS for messaging as follows:

  1. On your device, open Messages
  2. At the top right, tap Settings
  3. Tap ‘Chat features’
  4. Toggle 'Enable chat features' to OFF.
  5. Turn the phone off, wait 15 minutes, then power on the phone
  6. Try sending & receiving text messages.

Google added ‘Chat features’ to messaging, which makes things more complicated when switching phones and porting numbers.

Hey @Jawsgirl86, this does seem to happen somewhat regularly with Vodafone ports, but not with other networks. The good news is that the issue always seems to resolve itself within a few days, but If you’d like someone to take a look at your account, I’d recommend contacting the FacebookTwitter or Live Chat teams.
