Old Number on Messaging

I am new to ID Mobile, and have transferred my old number from 3 to ID Mobile. It has been confirmed that my number has ported ok, however although my phone calls are coming through and displaying my number, all SMS Messages are being sent from the new ID Mobile Number. I am not receiving any incoming messages. I have made sure my number is showing correctly in settings of the messaging App. My phone is Motorola Edge 30 on Android. I’m now getting really annoyed as I can’t get any support from ID due to no contact number and Live Chat not working.

Does disabling the “Chat features” option in the Messages app fix the issue?

If not try the following in the order given:

  1. Try a network reset on your device.
  2. If (1) fails to fix it, turn your phone OFF and remove the SIM card for at least 15 minutes - then try again.

In addition, I recommend reading these online “Chat features” support articles:

Anyway, good luck.

Hi @Tony Dawkins

Has the above by @andewhite helped your issue?

I am having exactly the same issue. I have raised with ID and it's been going on for weeks now but no one will help. I found that if I clear the SMS cache it corrects the issue but only temporarily. I was promised a contact back in 48 hours over a week ago. I'm starting to think moving to ID mobile was a very big mistake!

Hi @Karen B

I’ve replied to your post in another thread, have you tried that?

Hi there. We searched the net and saw a piece regarding deletion of SMS cache. This seems to have done the trick. Thank you for responding.
