Need to blacklist stolen phone using IMEI not phone number, as my phone number has been transferred to a new SIM in new phone

I need to blacklist my stolen phone. When I use chat or call the help number they ask for my phone number to blacklist the phone associated with it… but that is now my replacement phone with replacement SIM.

So, I need to blacklist the stolen phone using it’s IMEI, not the phone number, but I cannot find anywhere to do this.

When a phone is lost or stolen, you’re supposed to report it immediately. The phone and SIM are barred, and a replacement SIM is issued.

 

The problem you have now is iD Mobile needs your mobile number because you cannot just request an IMEI be barred, and if you give them your mobile number, they will probably bar your new SIM and the device you're currently using.

Thanks for your reply.

I did report it immediately and had that SIM blocked, but my IMEI still said ‘clean’ and I never got confirmation that phone was blacklisted (which I need for insurance claim).

I just went on the live chat I asked them to blacklist the stolen phone model (different to my current), and they said that will be done within the hour. Have I made a mistake here?
