my phone won’t send messages, it sits there for ages and then failed msg comes up. Also it then sometimes sends multiple msgs even when I get the message failed info. my contacts are telling me that my number is different even tho I kept my old number. I phone SE
In the “My Number” settings of your iPhone, please make sure it displays the number you’ve ported in. I suspect it will currently be displaying the original number that came with our SIM card. If you change this number to reflect the one you’ve ported over, I believe that’ll fix it.

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages) 2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button) 3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct. 4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number 5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages) 6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under “Start new conversations from:”.
