Credit check declined


ID Mobile cancelled my order for a sim only contract as a result of a failed credit check.  This despite me having a score of 999/1000 on Experian and 904/1000 on Equifax.  ID say try again in 3 months and the credit checking agencies are not able to help.  Can someone explain this ridiculous decision?

But being as it’s a SIM only deal you could always opt for a rolling month SIM only deal. Granted they don’t get the bigger bonuses as their 12/24 month ones. Then after 6 months you can upgrade to a 12/24 month contract.

And its not for me to say they don’t do a deep dive credit check when upgrading once you’ve got 6 months under your belt….😏

Unfortunately there wouldn’t be any more information we can give on a credit check decision, only a yes or no.

 

Your credit score wouldn’t mean anything outside of the company who provide you with it, for information on why you may have been rejected, we’d recommend contacting them.

No help at all Tom.  ID made the decision based on information from Equifax who advise me that I have a “very good” credit rating.  The decision makes no sense and you need to accept responsibility for the error.

Which one?

 

A 12/24 month SIM only

Or a 1 month SIM only

 

The other reason might be due to not being a UK resident for 3 years (just letting you know its not always the actual credit check itself)

I just had the same rejection. Never had a problem with my credit score before. Have recently moved house, opened a new joint account and set up direct debits - no issue. I’m going to guess its the recent move that has skewed this (even though I have 15 years of rental history and stable addresses under my belt).

I’ve had phone contracts, amongst others, for well over a decade, but apparently that accounts for nothing to ID Mobile. Very disappointing after hearing great feedback from friends and family. Would have been nice to be provided with a little more detail or at least a rejection before the order was processed.
