I have just moved my number over from Vodafone, my iMessages do not work. I have followed all the steps. However when entering my number into the phone settings it will not save. This needs to be rectified as soon as possible.

Hey there @Kirstie Whibberley, sorry to hear that.

Please try the following:

1) Turn off iMessage (Settings > Messages)
2) Restart your phone (by pressing and holding the on/off button)
3) Tap Settings > Phone > My Number and confirm that it is correct.
4) If it is not correct, please enter the correct number
5) Turn iMessage back to On (Settings > Messages)
6) Finally, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and see if the correct number is displayed under "Start new conversations from:"

If you are having issues with step 4 please reset network settings and try again.

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

If the above doesn’t work first time, please try the above steps again, but with the phone in flight mode. If not working still, please try the above steps in order one more time, with the SIM outside the phone, then restart the phone.

Thanks,

Tyler

Have you tried to use the RESET NETWORK option on your iPhone, @Kirstie Whibberley?

The Apple iOS user guide explains all the reset procedures for iPhone devices.

For example, with iOS 17 or later:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
